Pleasure Theater Krispel in Straden
Straden
In the beginning was the wine. Then the rustic bar and the Genießerbuschenschank was born.
It all started with a classic Buschenschank and a lot of love for the craft. At some point, Toni and Daniela Krispel were struck by the inventive spirit and developed the Neusetzer: a delicate, mild bacon, wrapped in sea salt and herbs, which matures for six months in basalt stone. Even during its ripening process, the Neusetzer can be visited in the basalt.
In May 2021, a new culinary chapter began with the opening of Krispel's GenussTheater. Head Chef Daniel Weißer presents seasonal regional delicacies here. A special element is the basalt, which connects the house's history and its culinary offerings. Guests dine in the newly designed courtyard and in the rooms that were previously used for the Gutsheurigen. Gault & Millau 2027 awards the Krispel GenussTheater 3 toques.
The traditional side of the house is also preserved: the former Gutsheurige has been transformed into a KostBar, where cold dishes, specialties from the wool pig, and Flammkuchen still have their place. Those who wish to stay after a tasting or an evening in the GenussTheater can overnight directly at the winery and conclude their stay with breakfast the next morning.
Thus, Krispel in Straden combines wine, regional cuisine, basalt, and hospitality into a special culinary experience in the Thermen- & Vulkanland Steiermark.
