The Steirische Tourismus- und Standortmarketing GmbH endeavors to make its website accessible in accordance with the Federal Act on Barrier-Free Access to Websites and Mobile Applications of the Federal Government (Web Accessibility Act – WZG) Federal Law Gazette I No. 59/2019 as amended.
This accessibility statement applies to www.steiermark.com and all associated regional, cooperation, and partner portals, as well as all subdomains of steiermark.com.
1. Status of Compliance with the Requirements
This website is partially compliant with the conformity level AA of the “Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.2” and with the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) pursuant to Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council due to the following incompatibilities and/or exceptions.
2. Non-accessible or Partially Accessible Content
The following content is not accessible for the following reasons:
a. Incompatibility with Accessibility Requirements
Additionally, all PDFs on the website do not comply with the PAC accessibility standard.
There is no version available in easy-to-read language or sign language.
A comprehensive redesign including a frontend overhaul is currently in progress and will go live in Fall 2025, addressing several of the listed issues. A content audit was conducted by valantic CX Austria GmbH in June 2025 to identify accessibility weaknesses.
b. Disproportionate Burden
Making the PDFs accessible and creating an easy-to-read version of this accessibility statement currently poses a disproportionate burden. These are therefore excluded.
c. Content Outside the Scope of Applicable Law
A version in sign language is not strictly required.
Third-party content (e.g., PDFs, documents, iframe integrations, or other media/documents not under the control of Steirische Tourismus- und Standortmarketing GmbH) is excluded from Directive (EU) 2016/2102. No guarantee of accessibility can be given for such third-party content.
3. Preparation of this Accessibility Statement
This statement was created on June 25, 2025.
The statement is based on a self-assessment conducted by Steirische Tourismus- und Standortmarketing GmbH in June 2025 using WCAG 2.2. The homepage, a content page, a tour object page, an infrastructure object page, an accommodation object page, and a detail page of the online magazine were tested. Individual page content is regularly reviewed when new content is published.
The statement was prepared, among other things, on the basis of an audit conducted by external experts.
The audit, which took place between 28 May 2025 and 6 June 2025, focused on a thorough and in-depth examination of selected, representative page types. These pages are considered indicative of the website’s overall offering and allow conclusions to be drawn about the accessibility of the entire website based on the detailed analysis.
As part of the audit, the reviewers conducted a comprehensive analysis of selected WCAG 2.2 AA guidelines for accessible content. In addition, due to its high relevance, the WCAG 2.2 3.1.5 AAA Reading Level was also reviewed. The evaluation was carried out using both manual and tool-assisted testing methods to provide a holistic assessment of the website’s accessibility.
The Google Chrome browser was primarily used to conduct the accessibility tests.
The decision to test on desktop, mobile devices, or both was made depending on the respective WCAG 2.2 AA guideline and based on its relevance and applicability.
PDFs and third-party content were excluded from the audit.
