More information
Via Highway A9 Pyhrnautobahn, Exit Rottenmann
Trail No. 652 begins at the parking lot near the Rottenmann fire station. Passing a barn and a stretch of forest, we turn left at the hairpin bend, where the trail begins. The path leads uphill through the forest, crossing the forest road several times. Depending on the snow depth, snowshoes may be required for this winter hike.
At approximately 1,405 m above sea level, the alpine pasture area begins and the trail levels out. Passing the Messner hunting lodge, we continue climbing through sparse forest to the junction with Trail No. 651 from Selzthal. We now head over the ridge to the nearly treeless high plateau with its beautiful summit cross. The return trip follows the same route.
