Siblings Rauch in Trautmannsdorf
Bad Gleichenberg
At the siblings Richard and Sonja Rauch in Trautmannsdorf, excellent gourmet cuisine meets Styrian tavern culture - a special place of enjoyment in the Thermal & Volcano Land Styria.
In the more than 120-year-old Steira Wirt in Trautmannsdorf, Styrian inn culture meets modern top-quality cuisine. Richard Rauch completed his culinary training in the family business and has been working as a chef since 2003. He received his first Gault-&-Millau toque in 2006, and in 2015 he was named "Chef of the Year" by Gault & Millau.
Together with his sister Sonja Rauch, he has developed the family business into one of the culinary addresses in the Thermen- & Vulkanland Steiermark. Richard Rauch combines regional roots with contemporary culinary art, while Sonja Rauch is responsible for service and wine pairing. Gault & Millau 2027 awards the gourmet cuisine of the Rauch siblings with 4 toques, while the inn cuisine of the Steira Wirt receives 2 toques.
Guests are served in the cozy parlors of the traditional inn or on the terrace with a vast view over the southeast Styrian hilly landscape. Fish tanks, pots of herbs, and a wine arbor made of Isabella grapes characterize the special atmosphere. From the terrace, the view also extends to Rauch's own vegetable garden.
Since 2018, a boutique hotel with six double rooms and two suites, as well as a cooking school, have complemented the offerings of the Rauch siblings in Trautmannsdorf near Bad Gleichenberg.
