When the first rays of sun shine over the gentle hills of the Thermal & Volcano Land, the distinctive castle rock of the Riegersburg calls for a personal challenge: The Climbing Challenge 2026 combines movement, mental strength, and nature experience in one of the most impressive locations in the region.
On Saturday, September 5, 2026, you can start freely between 05:00 and 18:00 and conquer the castle rock step by step. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced climber - you decide how many of the spectacular via ferratas you will master. It's not the time that counts, but the experience and overcoming your own limits.
Each completed category will be rewarded with an award - as a lasting memory of a day full of courage, focus, and energy. The Riegersburg will serve as a stage for gentle movement with depth, embedded in the powerful volcanic landscape of the Thermal & Volcano Land.
A complete climbing gear including a short daisy chain for resting is required.
