The rather leisurely tour leads over just under 50 km through the southeast of the Graz hill country.
Two short and two slightly more challenging climbs make this circular tour, starting from St. Ruprecht an der Raab. through the Graz hill country a welcome change from the classic long road bike tours. Particularly suitable for a short training ride in between at the beginning of the season or in the evening through small villages and along little-used local roads, in the south-east of Graz.

Route planner
- On this circular tour between St. Ruprecht an der Raab, Langegg bei Graz and St. Margarethen an der Raab, four small mountain stages await us, which provide variety on this short loop.
- We leave St. Ruprecht an der Raab, passing the Marktheurigen Strobl, via Fünfinger Straße and cycle - including a first short climb - to the Gut Freiberg golf club. This is one of the most varied and scenically beautiful golf clubs in Eastern Styria.
- Continue straight on past Freiberg Castle to a crossroads at the Saulauf inn, where we turn diagonally right to reach Ludersdorf-Wilfersdorf.
- Here we turn right and at the roundabout take the second exit towards Flöcking. After one kilometre we turn diagonally left, cycle under the motorway to tackle the climb to Langegg bei Graz. In the middle of Langegg bei Graz we keep diagonally left at the crossroads, cycle along the L 305 for a few hundred metres and turn diagonally left again to start the descent to St. Margarethen an der Raab.
- Before we enter the centre of St. Margarethen an der Raab, we make a 180 degree loop to the left. From here we start climbing the Kaplanberg again. When we reach the highest point, we keep to the right to pedal up the Kleeberg.
- The Kleeberg with its 32 m high observation tower - and 140 steps that bring us a little closer to heaven - offers a wonderful panoramic view that stretches from the Koralpe over the Schöckl and the Wechsel to the Riegersburg.
- From the Kleeberg, the route takes us rapidly to the village of Urscha, which is situated on the Raab river. We cross a bridge after the Schwab-Wiesenwirt inn and turn left via Mühlhausenstraße along the Raab, finally passing under the motorway, back to Ludersdorf-Wilfersdorf. At the eastern end of Ludersdorf-Wilfersdorf we cycle past the Genussvinothek Hütter via Freibergweg slightly uphill again to our already well-known golf club Gut Freiberg. The last kilometres of this circular tour to St. Ruprecht an der Raab are now identical to the first.
Despite all sporting ambitions, you should take a moment to enjoy the view from the Kleeberg.
There are several parking spaces available on the main square in St. Ruprecht an der Raab. Alternatively, about 150 m away, past the Hotel Locker & Légere and the Marktheurigen Strobl, there are numerous parking spaces at the large park in the middle of St. Ruprecht an der Raab.
