Route planner
- We start the tour in St. Ruprecht an der Raab in the Unterfladnitz district on the main road (L361) towards Etzersdorf. After a short climb through a shady forest, we turn right towards Wolga.
- Here we go uphill again a little through a forest before we arrive at the "Hauptplatz Wolga", passing the Wolga district of St. Ruprecht an der Raab, which has remained rural.
- After a short, slightly steeper climb in the direction of Etzersdorf, Heimschuh, we reach a beautiful ridge with views towards Kulm and eastern Styria.
- We follow the road with little traffic towards Prebuch and ride along the ridge with excellent views of the East Styrian hills. We pass fragrant apple orchards, the Styrian Apple Road, cherry orchards, chokeberry fields and much more that thrives here in Eastern Styria, the garden of Austria.
- After about 11 km we come to the Core Chapel - here we should definitely stop for a moment and enjoy the peace in the chapel and the view.
- Then we continue through a beautiful mixed forest and soon reach the Prebuch district of the municipality of Albersdorf-Prebuch. There we recommend a stop at the Apfelschlössl - a coffee house with homemade cakes and pastries.
- We continue to follow the Iltzal cycle path towards Neudorfberg and from here we head downhill towards Neudorf. Just before we reach Neudorf Ort, we take a sharp right towards Großpesendorf.
- Here we ride beautifully and romantically through apple orchards until we reach Großpesendorf. A rural community with beautifully maintained farmhouses and detached houses awaits us here in Großpesendorf. We follow the road in the direction of the Ilztaler Landesstraße.
- There we briefly turn right onto the Landesstraße and after a few metres continue in the direction of Ilztal at the roundabout. Here the cycle path goes along the road, past a nice rest area to Ilztal and from there on to Egelsdorf.
- We now cycle always in Ilztal and enjoy the beautiful landscape of Eastern Styria. In Egelsdorf we briefly leave the main road (L360) in the direction of Untergoßau in order to reach Sinabelkirchen from here.
- In Sinabelkirchen we briefly follow the main road (B65) to Gnies. There we turn right to Pernau and cycle via Hochenegg and Hainfeld near Fürstenfeld to Großwilfersdorf.
You should definitely take a short break at the
Core Chapel - a beautiful place of peace and inner contemplation.
