Mürzer Oberland Nature Park
Nestled between impressive mountain landscapes and untouched natural areas, the region around the Mürzer Oberland Nature Park is characterized by species-rich protected areas and a rich cultural heritage.
The Mürzer Oberland Nature Park is located in the northeastern part of Styria, surrounded by mountain peaks around 2,000 meters high, such as the Rax, Schneealpe, and Hohen Veitsch. The region is characterized by a diverse cultural landscape, shaped by extensive forests, gentle alpine meadows and deep river valleys. The region is home to numerous rare plant and animal species that find a safe habitat in the park’s various protected areas. In addition to its impressive flora and fauna, the region also offers cultural highlights, such as the imposing Neuberg Abbey, which hosts the annual Neuberger Cultural Days. As one of the seven nature parks in Styria, the Mürzer Oberland Nature Park places particular importance on preserving and maintaining its unique habitats.
