More information

The best way to plan your journey to Bad Aussee is with google.at/maps.
The starting point in Bad Aussee is the Kurpark, walk through Ischlerstraße to Elisabethpromenade (Unimarkt) and follow this past the tennis courts to its end. From here you follow the Traunpromenade, called "Klaus-Maria-Brandauer-Promenade", upstream to the road underpass and further to the building yard of the Altaussee municipality.

Pass the building yard to the footbridge over the Trattenbach and a few meters later to the bus stop on the main road. Cross the road and walk to the right across the parking lot above the former Scheichlmühle inn, then turn left again following the Traun along the road to the Seeklause. This brings you to the Hotel Seevilla on Lake Altaussee.

At the Seeklause you have the choice to hike around Lake Altaussee on the right or to visit the village of Altaussee on the left past the Seevilla. From here you also have the possibility to walk around the lake in the opposite direction. A stop at the Jagdhaus Seewiese or Seewiese Altaussee on the Seewiese at the eastern end of the lake is recommended. The return trip with the solar-powered liner is a variant.

A trip with the Altaussee Lake Cruise represents a nice journey especially for children!

The easiest way to get back from Altaussee to Bad Aussee is by public transport.

Metered parking is available throughout Bad Aussee.
