Water flying meeting of the Model Water Flying Association Lausitz
Airplanes have always fascinated people – whether large machines of aviation or detailed model airplanes.
Particularly enticing are the rare branches of model flying: the Modell-Wasserflugverein Lausitz e. V. is passionately dedicated to model seaplanes. The interplay of technology, precision, and take-offs and landings on the water makes this special form of model flying a unique experience.
The Schneider Cup model airplane competition at the Freizeit center in Gößl on Grundlsee is aimed at all pilots who own a flight-worthy replica of an original aircraft from the period of 1914 to 1931. The focus is not on maximum speed, but rather on adhering as closely as possible to the scale speed of the original. Depending on the model, the target speeds range from approximately 80 km/h to 150 km/h. Precision, faithful flying, and the fascination with historical seaplanes are what make the Schneider Cup particularly appealing.
Spectators are warmly welcomed. Seaplane pilots with other models are also invited to visit the flying day, bring their airplanes, and share the enthusiasm for flying on water.
