Narzissenfest (Daffodil Festival)
When the meadows in the picturesque region Ausseerland Salzkammergut transform into a magnificent, white sea of blossoms, the time for the enchanting "Narzissenblüte" - daffodil bloom has come.
As the largest flower festival in Austria, the Narzissenfest - daffodil festival has always been an absolute highlight for young and old: Blooming daffodil meadows in the most beautiful spots in Ausseerland and lovingly arranged, artistic figures dressed in the gown of the white star daffodil await each year to be admired by the countless visitors and long-time fans of the Narzissenfest.
For the 67th time, the Narzissenfest invites you to a variety of attractive events and program highlights in the Ausseerland Salzkammergut region over four days from May 27 to May 30, 2027. In 2027, the Narzissenfest takes place in Grundlsee with a boat parade on lake Grundlsee.
The annual highlights of the festival and other events surrounding the vibrant activities can be discovered at various events of the Narzissenfest! A colorful program ensures that, as every year, both young and old, as well as guests and locals, makes eyes light up.
The coronation of the Majesties opens the Narzissenfest, where the future Highnesses are usually introduced on Thursday and the Narcissus Queen is elected. On Friday, the kids present their learned dance skills on the stage of the venue Kur- und Congresshaus in Bad Aussee during the popular children's dance Maitanz. A nice conclusion with culinary delights, shopping, and music awaits afterwards at the popular Narcissus Night in the center of Bad Aussee.
On Saturday, the public Narzissenstecken (Arranging Daffodils) of the figures for the boat parade takes place, where the flower arranging skills of the participants can be admired. The annual vintage car ride & meeting, as well as the Sternmarsch and the Fashion show, prepare the fans of the flower festival for the highlight of the annual event.
On Narzissenfest-Sunday, the artistic daffodil figures will be presented at the Bootskorso Boat Parade, which takes place this year at lake Grundlsee. Throughout the day, the elaborately stuck, imaginative figures can be admired on the shore. A versatile festival program with music and culinary specialties makes the atmosphere at the festival site perfect. As a crowning finale, the announcement of the award-winning figures awaits!
During the four days, everything revolves around the enchanting daffodil bloom: From picking daffodils together to the community sticking of the artistic figures made from countless white star daffodils: Countless hours and days of work go into this celebrated tradition and are an integral part of the lived customs in the Ausseerland Salzkammergut region. Both guests and locals can actively participate in the diverse program of events, tours, and experiences, not only to admire the Narzissenfest daffodil figures, but also to take part from picking to flower arranging.
On a hike through the daffodil meadows, visitors can experience the magnificent white daffodils up close. A genuine insider tip for this is a guided daffodil hike (only in german), where guests learn interesting facts and enjoy a very special hiking experience through the sea of white blossoms.
To complete the experience of the Narzissenfest, helpers can learn about the proper picking of the white flowers during daffodil picking with guests and also participate in prepaing the daffodil figures!
