Altausseer Kirtag Beer Tent

The highlight of the season is surely the Altausseer "Kiritog" with the beer tent of the voluntary fire department Altaussee, which is taking place for the 64th time this year.

Experience the most unique and traditional beer tent in Austria. The tradition and principles have been upheld for six decades.

Celebrations take place in the old wooden pole tent, without loudspeaker music and with free admission. Over the charcoal grill, the chickens and bratwurst are prepared, and the wonderful beer, brewed especially for the Kirtag, is served chilled from the salt mine. If you are quick, you might also snag a freshly smoked trout.

Exactly these traditions and principles are passed down from generation to generation, and that is what makes the Altausseer Kirtag special.

What cannot be missed at the Kirtag is the visit to the Kirtag stalls on Sunday or Monday. Whether it is a souvenir or the traditional Kirtag visit with a grandchild, everyone will find something here.

Culinary specialties, handcrafted products, toys for young and old, as well as gingerbread hearts in all sizes can be purchased at the stalls.

Anyone who wants to secure a seat must arrive on time, because reservations are traditionally not possible!

After visiting the tent, the shuttle bus takes visitors back home towards Bad Aussee, Grundlsee, Bad Mitterndorf, and Tauplitz.
