Welcome to the Volkskeller... the traditional inn at the foot of the Styrian Erzberg.
For 60 years now, we, the Fruhmann family, have been delighting you with exquisite specialties from the region.

A Checkered History
First mentioned in 1624 (the year was engraved on a beam), the Volkskeller was originally a rest stop for postal traffic. In 1954, it came into the possession of the Fruhmann family. In 1962, the old Volkskeller was demolished and rebuilt. It was awarded the performance plaque "Good Styrian Inn" in 1987. To this day, the Volkskeller has remained such an inn.

Hearty Dishes
Our menu includes both traditional specialties such as Wiener Schnitzel, turkey schnitzel, and pork roast, as well as exquisite dishes like boiled beef, Balkan platter, Nuremberg roast beef, or Burgenland chop. For a light hunger, we recommend our mixed salad with traditional Styrian pumpkin seed oil.

Guests appreciate not only our wholesome dishes but especially the exquisite wine. Our manager, a passionate sommelier, serves you Styrian and Burgenland quality wines. Her good intuition and numerous contacts have led to a diverse and exceptional wine list.

Accommodation Options
In addition to a visit to our restaurant, we also offer you the opportunity to spend the night with us. Our two double rooms with a balcony and shower cost 30 EUR per person per night, including breakfast. Our restaurant has a smoking and a non-smoking area, and dogs are welcome.
