Eisenerz

The Erzberg towers over the town and all around, imposing mountain peaks look down on the traditional mountain town. Excitingly different - that's how you can really describe Eisenerz. The step mining of the Erzberg is considered the largest pyramid in the world. Another highlight are the two Haulys, the largest taxis in the world. In the hollow of the converted dump trucks you experience mining at first hand.
Steep and demanding via ferrata routes have also been built into the rocks, which are unforgettably extreme, but also reward you with wonderful far-reaching views. The Leopoldsteinersee is completely natural with drinking water quality and is also located on the hiking route "From Glacier to Wine" and on the Iron Trail, the circular hiking trail through the ERZBERG LEOBEN region. Its scenic beauty is a true jewel, the emerald-green water surface reflecting the rugged rock face of the lake wall forms the unique backdrop for a boat trip.
Crystal-clear air and a high recreational factor can also be found in the Eisenerzer Ramsau, a high valley that is a cross-country skiing and touring paradise in winter and an inviting starting point for wonderful hikes in summer. Präbichl offers fun on 20 kilometres of slopes in winter and pure adventure in the Alpfox Adventure Park in summer.
