Due to the exposed location of the village, Pöllauberg is rightly called the "sun and view terrace of Eastern Styria". One enjoys a magnificent panoramic view over the entire eastern Styrian hill country.
Pöllauberg, known as a place of pilgrimage to the Virgin Mary, with its high Gothic pilgrimage church is one of the oldest and most important places of pilgrimage in Styria and attracts thousands of pilgrims from near and far every year. Also due to the numerous awards for the "Most beautiful flower village" and 2009 as "Most beautiful spot of Styria" many visitors and guests come again and again to this beautiful place. 427 m is the sea level in the south, in the north rises the Masenberg, the local mountain of the region, with 1,261 m sea level.
The municipality, which also lies on the hiking route "From Glacier to Wine", has a rural structure and the inhabitants here still cherish their landscape with much love. This also benefits the guests, who are always warmly welcomed not only in the overnight accommodations but also during their hikes or walks, for example through the theme gardens. The diversity of the region is also reflected in the menu with delicacies from the nature park cuisine, whose leading product is the stag pear. Eating and drinking well has a high priority in the Pöllauer Tal and is written in capital letters in the catering establishments.
