‘Top of Stuhleck’ - summit tour
This motorbike tour with gravel sections leads into the Schneeberg and Rax region, but the highlight is the summit of the Stuhleck, the highest point in the Fischbacher Alps.
If you are travelling on another motorbike, you can bypass or shorten the enduro sections of the route.
The tour leads from the Mürztal valley over the Preiner Gscheid into the Höllental valley in Lower Austria and over the Ochsattel to St. Aegyd. Via Gscheid and on over the Lahnsattel you reach the Mürzer Oberland, where you take the gravel road to the Falkensteinalm and take a break in the picturesque alpine pasture area.
Now continue along the main road to Langenwang and the Langenwanger Schwöbing to the Alpl. There you can visit Peter Rosegger's forest school, and if you want to hike, you can visit Peter Rosegger's birthplace - half an hour's walk from the car park.
You continue your tour via the L 118 to the Roseggerhof and from here to the 'Bergbausiedlung'. This road leads to the village of St. Kathrein am Hauenstein and on to the Pfaffensattel. At the top of the pass, follow the toll road to the Alois-Günther-Haus, which is also a good place to stop for refreshments. After enjoying the panorama and culinary delights, you return to the starting point of the tour via Spital am Semmering.
