On the trail of ore and iron - Erzberg Tour
The Erzberg Tour follows in the footsteps of ore and iron from Hochsteiermark to the Erzberg-Leoben region.
On this tour, you follow in the footsteps of ore and iron, some of which you can marvel at and visit in Hochsteiermark.
The highlight of the tour is the Erzberg, the so called 'Styrian bread loaf'. However, there are many other highlights along the route that are closely linked to the mining industry: the historic Erzberg railway and the Radwerk IV blast furnace museum or the mining museum in Gußwerk.
All in all, a rewarding tour with a picturesque landscape and historical background.

Bruck/Mur - B 116 always direction Leoben - (alternative: motorway S6 to Leoben Ost) - through Leoben on B 116 - then B 115 direction Hieflau - Vordernberg - Präbichl - at road km 122.8 turn left to Erzbergblick car park (photo stop) - Eisenerz - in Hieflau turn right direction Mariazell - at road km 95, 3 turn right onto B 25 towards Mariazell - stay on B 25 until road km 73.6 turn right onto B 24 towards Mariazell (nice rest area after the bridge) - Wildalpen - Prescenyklause (photo stop) - Gußwerk - in Gußwerk turn right towards Kapfenberg onto B 20 - Wegscheid straight ahead - Seebergpaßhöhe - Thörl - Kapfenberg - turn right onto B 116 to Bruck/Mur.
