The classic Hochsteiermark tour
This tour leads over the Mürzer Oberland and the Lahnsattel via the Walsern to Mariazell and the Erlaufsee. With Seeberg, Pogusch and the Pretal saddle, three other well-known mountain crossings in Hochsteiermark are included.
From Mürzzuschlag, the tour leads to Mürzsteg and on to the Lahnsattel. Via Terz and Gscheid to Ulreichsberg, where the route leads over the Walser to Mariazell.
The route continues via the Erlaufsee lake to the Seebergsattel and to Turnau on the Pogusch. From St. Lorenzen, it leads to Kapfenberg, Thörl and Aflenz back to Turnau and then over the Pretalsattel to Veitsch.
The main road takes you via Krieglach and Langenwang back to the starting point of the motorbike tour, Mürzzuschlag.

From Mürzzuschlag, the tour leads along the B 23 towards Neuberg. In Mürzsteg, stay right on the B 23 to reach Frein and the Lahnsattel (1015 m). At Terz, turn right onto the B 21, then left at Gscheid onto the L101 towards Ulreichsberg. In Ulreichsberg, take a sharp left turn, a small signpost to Mariazell - Walster can be found here. Follow the road over the Walster and the Rechengraben until you reach the junction with the B 21. After Mariazell, turn right.
From Mariazell, continue on the B 20 to Mitterbach, where you turn left towards Erlaufsee (Seestraße). Cycle around the lake and turn left towards Kapfenberg at the junction with the B 71. In Rasing, turn right onto the B 20 to reach the Seebergsattel and on to Au bei Turnau. Here you follow the road to Turnau on the left. In the centre of Turnau, turn right onto the L 123 towards Pogusch. Follow the road again to St. Lorenzen and continue straight ahead at the church towards Parschlug, Pogier and on to Kapfenberg.
In Kapfenberg, continue along the B 20 towards Thörl and Aflenz. In the Draiach area, turn right onto the L 124 to Turnau. Now continue straight ahead over the Pretalsattel, which leads to Veitsch. Via Veitsch, head towards Mitterdorf and at the roundabout take the third exit and continue on the main road to Krieglach and Mürzzuschlag.

- Tip: detour to the Brunnalm at the foot of the Hohe Veitsch
