We start our hike in the town center of Mitterdorf. Along the Pilgermeile, we are accompanied by pilgrim sculptures and other landmarks, such as the Franzosenbrunnen (French Fountain). From the Main Square, we continue along Veitscher Straße and turn left at the junction with Hundskopfstraße. Here, we encounter a steeper section of the trail, which leads from Hundskopfstraße into Obere Waldgasse. We follow the marked path further to the idyllic Teichhütte, where we take a well-deserved break.
On Friday and Saturday afternoons, the Teichhütte is open, offering the opportunity to enjoy local products from the farmers of Mitterdorf.
Afterward, the path continues along Schmölzstraße, leading to the cemetery with its Stations of the Cross. After visiting the Stations of the Cross, we proceed along Rittisstraße (R5 bike path) to Schloss Pichl, where the Pilgerpark and Mercuriusweg await. Here, we find peace and can reflect on the art installations before continuing our walk back to the town center.
