St. Joseph's Chapel
FürstenfeldIn 1694, the Josefikapelle was built as a cemetery church (founded by city judge Georg von Schedeneck). Until 1823, it was a filial church of the city parish church, and afterward became a tobacco warehouse.
From 1998 to 2001, the chapel was extensively renovated. The Fürstenfeld artist Skip Grabner designed the arrangement of the old crucifixion group from the Dreikreuzberg, the altar, session, side table, and the gallery railing.
In 2004, two applied art groups were inaugurated in the chapel: the 12 modernly designed Stations of the Cross made of metal, created by Erich Unterweger in 1959 for the Mission Church of St. Severin, and 7 reverse glass paintings depicting Stations of the Cross by Erika Wolf-Rubenzer from the years 1983 and 1984.
