Working with and in nature
The winery of Franz J. Hutter is located between the district capital Feldbach and the spa town Bad Gleichenberg. The farm has been managed by the Hutter family since 1726. Work is done with and in nature. This sometimes requires patience and a large portion of humility. The goal is living vineyards, the working method is one that is sustainable in the long term. The Hutter family consciously works in such a way that the foundations remain protected for future generations.
Franz Hutter's wines thrive on a wide variety of soils. The diversity of soils - from volcanic weathered rock to gravel, loam and sand in all transitional forms - makes it possible for him to plant each variety on the subsoil that is optimal for it, thus supporting the character of the respective variety. In total, about five hectares of vineyards are cultivated. The focus is on the production of white wine (65 percent).
