180 years of Berghofer Mill - Vibrant, timeless, unique
Experience the 2nd Mill Day in the spirit of 180 years of Berghofer Mill – a place where history comes alive and traditional craftsmanship meets modern experience. Under the motto “Vibrant, Timeless, Unique”, the historic mill opens its doors for a celebration full of impressions, knowledge, and enjoyment. Whether big or small – the whole family will find something to enjoy here.
Explore the grain mill, oil mill, and the in-house small hydropower plant with hourly guided tours and dive deep into the world of traditional milling. Especially fascinating: the production of pumpkin seed oil as it was done 200 years ago – here you can witness how valuable Styrian pumpkin seed oil was once produced, back when they used the so-called “oil cow”.
For culinary enthusiasts, there is the opportunity to taste various mill products and shop in the mill store with attractive promotions. Meanwhile, the Rotary Club Fürstenfeld ensures the well-being of guests with regional delicacies.
Children will also have their fun: The “Mill Ride” with horse-drawn carriage makes children's eyes shine, and during the children's tour, the youngest guests become “grain explorers” and create their own muesli. Another highlight is the baking demonstration with master baker Torsten Scheer, who presents traditional craftsmanship in a modern form.
