Kitzeck im SausalOur winery is located on the sunny hills of the South Styrian Wine Road in the small community of Gauitsch. Here, in the highest wine-growing region in Europe, we feel almost like in seventh heaven. All around we look at our vineyards, above us shines the warming sun and below us in the cellar everything is ready to refine the ripe grapes into distinctive wines.
The slopes of our 1.5 ha vineyards are steep and require a lot of manual labor. But the climate is mild and from the multi-layered slate soils our vines get not only water and nutrients but also mineral trace elements that give our wines their defining character.
Especially our white varieties Muskateller, Welschriesling, Rheinriesling, Pinot Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc find ideal conditions here. Zweigelt also feels at home in this high location and surprises with its powerful body.
A fresh wind always blows in our wine cellar, symbolically. Because we always want to develop further, also our wines. With innovative technologies and bold ideas, we sometimes open up new dimensions of taste, giving our wines more elegance and texture. An experience. For us and also for every wine connoisseur.
