Weingut Bullmann
Ehrenhausen an der WeinstraßeOn one of the most beautiful places of the South Styrian Wine Road lies the traditional winery Bullmann. Mrs. Bullmann was very concerned about the development of the South Styrian Wine Route and is known as the "Mother of the Wine Route".
The boundaries of the estate are to a large extent identical with the state border with Slovenia. The estate comprises 7ha of vineyards, 1ha of orchards and 9ha of woods. 70% of all vineyards are located in south-facing steep slopes with up to 60% slope. According to the soil conditions, the following grape varieties are grown: Welschriesling, Riesling, Sauvignon blanc, Weissburgunder, Morillon, Ruländer, Muskateller, Müller Thurgau, Sämling, Traminer, Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch.
The winery is located in the wine-growing region of southern Styria, directly on the South Styrian Wine Route, on a hilltop crowned by slender poplars with a sweeping view of the Windische Bühel. One chain of hills follows the other, the southern slopes with vines, the northern side with mixed forest, including the sweet chestnut. In summer a lush, dark green and in autumn the most variegated colors. The climate is continental and strongly influenced by the Pannonian. Different soils such as loamy sand, shell limestone and opok contribute to wines full of character.
