Ehrenhausen an der WeinstraßeThe Bärenhof in Berghausen offers brown bears from Europe and Asia a loving home, which gives the imprinted animals the opportunity to enjoy their lives again to the fullest. As different as their fate and origin, are also their appearance and character. Besides the bears, there are many other animals such as goats, peacocks, bison and Mangalitsa pigs.
Here on the South Styrian Wine Route, the first brown bears were taken in more than 30 years ago. Now there are already 11 of these wonderful animals, which are offered a new home in our facility after many agonizing years. With a lot of commitment but also a lot of financial effort the dens are continuously improved and enlarged. Expert advice from veterinarians and support from animal lovers ensure constant and comprehensive care. Thus the bear yard with its animals represents beside a number of Buschenschenken and other attractions in this picturesque environment for years a varied, popular point of attraction for young and old. he physical well-being is also taken care of and so nothing stands in the way of a visit in the beautiful summer months or in our famous autumn!
