Castle Riegersburg
RiegersburgRiegersburg Castle is enthroned on a 482 meter high volcanic rock, visible from afar.
Mightily the Riegersburg is enthroned on an extinct volcano.
7 gates, 11 bastions, 4 kilometers of defensive walls and 2 moats protect the castle!
The most beautiful way to explore this fortress is via the historic footpath or adventurously via the Leopoldklettersteig.
If you want to go faster, you can easily take the castle lift.
In the castle, the state rooms, the inner courtyards, as well as the witch, weapon and castle museum are fascinating.
For families and especially for our little visitors there is an exciting scavenger hunt with castle ghost Rüdiger,
an exciting children's audio guide through the museums and a great playground in the large guest garden
of the castle tavern, with one of the most beautiful views over the Styrian hill country! The spectacular bird of prey
flight show fascinates young and old and completes the Riegersburg experience.
