Wharfedale Gardens Gin
Eggersdorf bei GrazWharfedale Gardens Gin from Styria combines exceptional craftsmanship with tradition. Awarded as Austria's best London Dry Gin, it impresses with purity and distinctive flavor.
In the Graz Region of Styria, Markus Alexander Schlamadinger created Wharfedale Gardens Gin, a product that meets the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. His philosophy is based on small, limited batches to preserve the gin's purity and unique character. Distilled over a real beechwood fire, Wharfedale Gardens Gin uses no artificial flavors or sugars – a true homage to the tradition of London Dry Gin.
The range includes two varieties: the classic London Dry Gin and the Navy Strength Edition, which offers a more intense experience due to its higher alcohol content. Both varieties have been highly awarded at the 2023 and 2024 World Gin Awards in London. At the iconic Waldorf Hotel, the London Dry Gin won gold and was named the best London Dry Gin in Austria. In 2024, the Navy Strength Edition followed with a double gold medal at the prestigious competition held at the Hurlingham Club in West London, a venue frequented by the British royal family. This recognition places Wharfedale Gardens Gin among the international elite and brings it worldwide acclaim.
The name "Wharfedale Gardens, Old No. 9" holds personal significance for Markus Schlamadinger. In the 1940s, his great-aunt Mutzi moved from Graz to Blyth, UK, after marrying a British man named Billy. Blyth, once a significant coal export port, became a place of fond childhood memories for Markus. The family lived in a charming brick house on Wharfedale Gardens, a small cul-de-sac. The number 9 represents the cherished memories Markus associates with this time and place.
Wharfedale Gardens Gin beautifully combines this emotional connection with Markus’ passion for traditional gin-making. The result is a gin of the highest quality, enjoyed by connoisseurs worldwide.
