In the Graz Region, in the heart of Styria, lies the Walzkogelhütte, a real gem for hikers and nature lovers. This charming alpine hut, located in the municipality of Geistthal, is only accessible on foot via hiking trail no. 535, making a visit a real adventure. The hut opens its doors from May to October and offers warm hospitality as well as a selection of delicious homemade specialities.
Once they arrive, guests are rewarded with a spectacular panorama of the Graz Basin and the surrounding landscape. The hut, run by Hans Höfer, invites you to linger from Wednesday to Sunday from midday, while Monday and Tuesday are rest days. It is the perfect place to unwind, sample the culinary delights of the region and enjoy nature in all its splendour. The Walzkogelhütte stands for unforgettable experiences and moments of tranquillity in the breathtaking Styrian landscape.
The hut is also located directly on the connecting route of the Way of St James in Western Styria.
