Only seven kilometers south of Graz and you already feel like at the sea! The Schwarzlsee - not by chance often called the "Sea of Graz" - is a true leisure oasis and much more than just a bathing lake or a lido.
Of course, you can sunbathe and relax wonderfully on the well-kept sandy beach, but with the huge range of sports and leisure activities on offer, there is nothing left to be desired even for the more active among us. 30 trendy sports - including all kinds of water sports - are a sure guarantee that boredom is a foreign word here: surfing, Aquaropa aquafunpark, stand-up paddling, diving, beach volleyball, inline skating, water skiing and wakeboarding, sailing, tandem jumping, fishing ... How about a lake circuit? The 4.5 km-long route is ideal for walking, running, inline skating, strolling, skateboarding or cycling. If you don't have your own bike, you can rent one at the entrance - for FREE, you only have to pay a deposit.
Aquaropa - Ninja Park on the water is great fun that is becoming more and more popular! The Ninja experience not only provides adrenaline rushes on swimming days, but is also a refreshing program for team building, school or family outings, birthday parties and the like. The goal is to compete with others and overcome the obstacles together. The one who stays dry wins!
With so much action, hunger and thirst are sure to set in soon. Maybe you're in the mood for pizza or spaghetti, or maybe you'd like a proper snack after your run? Would you rather have a few cool cocktails or a nice beer with friends or your best friend - all with a great view of the lake, of course? No problem, at Schwarzlsee you have the choice and some of the pubs are even open all year round.
Whether it's a mega flea market - by the way, with an area of 50,000 m² including indoor and outdoor areas for all weather conditions, the largest flea and rarity market in Styria - Cage Fight or circus - the area at Schwarzlsee is a very special venue.
Especially in the summer months, it is sometimes all too difficult to say goodbye to the lake. But why should you leave this gem at all? - Whether with tent or caravan, the quiet and clean campsite invites you to stay. For fans of seamless tanning, there is a separate fenced-off nudist area.
Immerse yourself in art and nature! Right next to the entrance to Schwarzlsee, the Austrian Sculpture Park extends over an area of around seven hectares - a fascinating park landscape and at the same time an ideal and harmonious space for 80 sculptures to develop (and more are being created all the time). Here, works by renowned Austrian artists - from Fritz Wotruba and Franz West to Erwin Wurm, Heimo Zobernig and Michael Kienzer - communicate with examples of international sculpture, for example by Jeppe Hein, Nancy Rubins, Yoko Ono, Tobias Rehberger and Susana Solano.
