Fountain for women in Geistthal
Geistthal-SödingbergThis fountain in the centre of Geistthal is called the Women's Fountain and shows various depictions of women.
Sculptor Alfred Schlosser worked for three years on this fountain, which depicts the injustice against women and the healing power of the female sex with sculptures and carefully considered texts.
The inspiration for this was the hundred-year-old farmer's wife Martha Moosegger, who was burned as a witch in Voitsberg in 1647. Women are commemorated in a variety of ways and the injustice done to them over the centuries is pointed out.
