For bathing enthusiasts, there is a public, free jetty and a well-tended natural meadow. A marvellous hiking trail with a walking time of around two and a half hours leads around the reservoir. Since the new construction of the publicly accessible footbridge, which offers a wonderful view of the Teigitschtal valley, it is now possible to walk around the lake.
The Hirzmann reservoir is also popular for fishing and fishing licences can be purchased at the Seeblick buffet at the Ströhberne bridge. Boats and kayaks can also be hired there. A speciality of this establishment is home-smoked trout in addition to snacks and hot dishes. The beautiful terrace with a marvellous view of the water is the perfect place to take a break and enjoy the tranquillity of the lake. The Seeblick zu Ströhbernen Brücke buffet with landlady Monika Kiedl is also an excellent venue for various celebrations. And as the name of the restaurant suggests, you have a beautiful view of the historic Ströhberne Bridge, which is a listed building due to its special roof covering. Bookings for camping are also accepted at this restaurant.
