Celebrate 100 years of Thalersee with music, culinary delights and a family programme in the Graz Region!
From 6 to 8 June 2025, the shores of Lake Thaler in the Graz Adventure Region will be transformed into a lively stage for an unforgettable anniversary celebration. For 100 years, Lake Thalersee has been a place of recreation and encounters for the people of Graz - a local recreation area with history and heart.
The lake, once created by the brewer Hans von Reininghaus, quickly became a popular destination for excursions. This is where the young Arnold Schwarzenegger learnt to row, rented out boats and proposed to his future wife Maria Shriver in 1985. To mark the anniversary, the historic rowing boats return to the water - and perhaps Arnold himself.
The three-day festival offers:
- Live music from acts such as Calim, Armané, Joshi & Pauli, Lukas Oscar and Klumzy Tung
- ‘Swing the Lake’ with the jazz band from Graz University of the Arts
- A special exhibition of the Schwarzenegger Museum with original props
- The ‘100 years of beer history’ adventure trail with ten lovingly designed ‘beer marts’
- A colourful family programme with bouncy castles, hands-on stations and a stand-up paddle competition
- Public viewing of the European Championship match between Austria and Romania on Saturday evening
- An after-show party in the rock garden with surprise musical guests
- A relaxed brunch on the lake stage on Sunday with regional specialities and music by Andrew, the DJ duo Lisana and Milo
