Weizer apple truffle
The desire of customers to have a sweet delicacy typical of our region as a gift prompted master confectioner Heinz Schwindhackl to create the Weizer apple truffle. In addition to the well-known apple strudel, fresh apples and apple schnapps, the Weizer apple truffles are also among the representatives of Eastern Styria. It was not that easy to "invent" this confectionery. Many considerations played a role. Should it be something in the form of a pastry or would the confectionery form be the better? How can you include our regional specialties? And which should it ultimately be? It soon became clear that there had to be something with "apple", because this is dominant in our area. Apple schnapps is another specialty and so the decision to make a "candy" with an apple-flavored filling was soon made. But it didn't happen that quickly. There was stirred and tasted, customers became "test persons", the recipe was often improved and finally it was there: light green and brown streaked, fragrant and round. The "Weizer apple truffle" was born.
