"Time Slices" - Reflections on life in poetry, music, images, and dance
"If you divide life into time slices, you should fill them with poetry, music, art, but above all, love," says poet Hermine Arnold. We can experience what it sounds like when renowned regional artists from various disciplines engage in profound reflections on life at the "Time Slices" concert in Gleisdorf's parish church on June 15, 2025.
"Time Slices" is a four-dimensional concert, taking as its starting point the poetry of the award-winning poet Hermine Arnold (St. Ruprecht / Raab). The renowned and internationally acclaimed composers Franz Zebinger (Kumberg), Herbert Bolterauer (Graz), and Viktor Fortin (Graz) have been inspired by her poetry to create wonderful compositions. There will also be a musical setting by the German singer-songwriter Ronja Künstler. In total, we can look forward to an incredible six world premieres.
The poetic music of various styles, under the overall direction of Franz Jochum, will be presented by a magnificent ensemble of the chorforum.gleisdorf and the Chor der Kirchenmusik (KUG), mezzo-soprano Maria Suntinger, as well as Aleksey Vylegzhanin (organ), Julia Rakos (alto saxophone), Anna Voronova (harp), and Peter Blasge (marimba). The music will be accompanied by individual dance interludes by professional ballerina Marina Zufall. In between, poet Hermine Arnold will recite selected excerpts from her lyrical texts. The concert will feature a digital exhibition of images by the artists Theresia Plank-Zebinger (Kumberg) and Valerie Varga (Gleisdorf). The images inspired the poetry, and the poetry inspired the artists.
Look forward to a musically and poetically charged concert evening!
