Stefan Schandor "SM in Dialect"
SM doesn't stand for Sailor Moon, sadomasochism, or synchronous motor," jokes Fürstenfeld cabaret artist Stefan Schandor about his first stage show. The best way to experience what's behind it is to see it on stage.
Stefan Schandor has felt at home on stage since childhood – entertaining isn't just a hobby for him, but a calling. The cabaret artist from Fürstenfeld is a true stage presence with depth: despite all his punchlines, he doesn't shy away from tackling serious topics. With razor-sharp observation and unsparing candor, he brings socially relevant questions about social media and related phenomena to the stage – authentic, honest, and taken from real life.
His first stage show bears the provocative title "SM in Dialect" – what it really entails, Schandor explains with a wink, is "seminar cabaret." The idea: to combine knowledge and humor in a format that is both entertaining and thought-provoking.
As a speaker on child protection, he sits directly at the source of current topics – an advantage he skillfully uses: "I'm neither an IT professional nor a street worker, but I firmly believe that social media can be made accessible to all ages with humor and plain language," says Schandor about his mission.
With a good dose of charm, humor, and factual knowledge, he manages to present complex topics such as smartphone use and digital transformation in an understandable, vivid, and entertaining way. And, of course, there's plenty of laughter too – because in the end, SM might not be as far removed from everyday life as one might think.
