Weiz‘Parallel Motion’ is the band's 30th album release and a true testament to the longevity and resilience of a band that debuted over 40 years ago.
The current line-up, consisting of Bob Mintzer (tenor and soprano saxophone/EWI), Russell Ferrante (piano/keyboards), Will Kennedy (drums, keyboards) and Dane Alderson (electric bass, MIDI sequencing), continues to reinvent itself through elevated instrumentation in their signature electro-acoustic soundscape, presenting a collective in its prime. This album features 9 new original compositions and guest vocalist Jean Baylor (4x GRAMMY® Award nominee of the Baylor Project and R&B duo Zhané) on ‘If You Believe’. As a well-rehearsed, long-standing jazz ensemble, the Yellowjackets have explored their very own universe of electro-acoustic soundscapes over their four-decade history. Since the band's eponymous 1981 debut album, Yellowjackets have consistently pushed forward with innovative and challenging artistic statements.
