‘BRASS UNLIMITED’ Musical direction: Reinhard Summerer
Their music has fascinated us for decades. It is the masters Max Steiner, Erich Korngold and Bernard Herrman who have shaped this genre and John Barry, Elmer Bernstein, Jerry Goldsmith, Nino Rota (and many more) who have continued it masterfully.
And those like David Arnold, Bill Conti, Danny Elfman, Michael Giacchino, James Horner, Alan Menken, Ennio Morricone, Randy Newman, Alan Silvestri, Howard Shore (and many more), but especially John Williams and Hans Zimmer continue to seduce us with musical masterpieces while we stare spellbound at the screen.
Let yourself be surprised by the Brass GesmbH, a formation of musicians from the Weiz region, and enjoy moments full of emotion. The ensemble was first formed in autumn 1995 with the aim of presenting the diversity of brass instruments.
Josef Bratl (director of the Weiz music school since 2008) founded this ensemble together with Christoph Pfeiffer (director of the Weiz big band) in order to set new impulses in the regional brass scene. In various projects, a broad repertoire of original works and transcriptions for brass ensemble is performed by musicians from the Weiz region.
The current Brass GesmbH is made up of 13 brass players, double bass and two percussionists, who perform in this project under the musical direction of Reinhard Summerer.
