Hohentauern

The Edelrautehütte offers hikers and day-trippers a cosy place to stop for refreshments, where regional delicacies and homemade pastries are on offer.

The cosy Edelrautehütte is located at 1,725 m above sea level and can be reached from Hohentauern on foot (5.5 km) or by car or cab via the toll road.
From the parking lot you walk about 10 minutes to the hut. The alpine club hut is the right place for day tourists and hiking enthusiasts to explore the nearby large Scheiblsee or to climb the surrounding mountains (e.g. Bösenstein 2,448 m, Großer Hengst 2,159 m and Hauseck 1982 m).

The hut has 6 double rooms, 3 four-bed rooms, 1 five-bed room, a 10-bed dormitory and an 18-bed dormitory - a total of 57 sleeping places. For breakfast there is a rich breakfast buffet. For celebrations like birthday, baptisms, weddings, confirmation, pension, family and Christmas parties the Alpenvereinshütte is also suitable. We are happy to fulfill your wishes.

In summer for hiking and fishing (at the Gr. Scheiblsee and at the Kl. Scheiblsee - fishing rental possible), in winter for ski touring, snowshoeing and sledding.

A cozy parlor and a dining room offer space for 120 people. The guest garden offers in the summer again place for approximately 150 persons.
