Church Hohentauern
HohentauernThe church is dedicated to St. Bartholomew.
The predecessor church was built in the 14th century, it is mentioned for the first time in 1363. It was a chaplaincy of the parish of St. Lorenzen, the Admont mother parish of the Paltental. The vicars, later missionaries, were housed in the former forester's house, today Gasthof Daxler, on the Schulterer Höhe. Around 1490 the choir was rebuilt. The vicarage was formally established in 1760. It was not until the early 19th century that the vicarage was built in the village. In 1892 the church was elevated to an independent parish. In 1956 the interior of the church was restored. Since the 2000s, St. Bartholomä belongs to the parish association of Trieben, Hohentauern, St.Lorenzen im Paltentale.
