A musical reading with Reinhard P. Gruber
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the 1973 novel 'From the Life of Hödlmoser – a Styrian Novel with Direction' by Reinhard P. Gruber, this entertaining literature/music program was created, in which texts from the Styrian cult novel are read exclusively by the author himself.
He is musically supported by the 'Hödlmoser Brass,' which comments on, stylistically complements, and frames the satirical and humorous texts.
The 'Hödlmoser Brass' consists of: Nikola Vukovic (trumpet, flugelhorn, slide trumpet) and Christoph Wundrak (baritone horn, tuba, slide trumpet, composition/arrangement)
This brass duo originally emerged from a joy in 'free' playing.
However, in this program, the music has an unmistakable satirical connection to the Styrian - Alpine music tradition, which winks playfully into the experimental, jazzy-rocky-groovy foundation of the duo.
