Geologically interesting conglomerate cliffs and landslides make the Zinkgraben exciting for geology enthusiasts as well. Especially in hot temperatures, the Zinkgraben Day Hike is ideal for cooling off and recharging your energy.

Three running and walking routes of varying difficulty await to be discovered:
- Gas Station Route (3.1 km) – This asphalted route is ideal for beginners and runs through the city.
- Zinkgraben Route (3.2 km) – A route for experienced runners and walkers that leads along the Großen Billbach through the gorge forest.
- Milky Way Route (10 km) – The perfect route for passionate runners. It leads through the Zinkgraben, up to Weißenbach and continues over the Milky Way back to St. Gallen into the Zinkgraben.
The Auszeitsteig in Zinkgraben can be walked year-round in suitable weather conditions.
