Bad MitterndorfStill active in 2024 as a NATURE mentor in the Ausseerland region, Ing. Matthias Pointinger will expand his activities in 2025 to the exciting field of archaeology.
As the curator of the archaeological department at the Kammerhofmuseum Bad Aussee and as the chairman of the Heimatforschungsverein Salzkammergut (HEFOSA), he brings extensive experience and passion.
His archaeological journey began back in 2001 with the working group AAS. This developed into the non-profit association (HEFOSA) in 2018, dedicated to researching the unique history, geology, and environment of the Inner Salzkammergut – with a focus on archaeology.
More than 6000 documented metal finds tell a story that dates back over 5000 years. These successes were only made possible through close collaboration with scientific partners such as the Federal Monuments Office.
The exciting unique history of our homeland is communicated as simply and understandably as possible during the tours. These exclusive tours are offered not only in groups but also for individuals.
