Carl Loewe (1796-1869) was one of the most respected composers of his time. However, he has gone down in music history as the unrivaled master of ballad composition, as “Germany's ballad composer”. He was the first and only person to create the musical ballad form and bring it to perfection. Among the best known of his more than 400 ballads are: “Tom der Reimer”, “Odins Meeresritt”, “Prinz Eugen”, “Herr Oluf” and “Die Uhr”.
Reinhard Mayr, born in Grieskirchen, Upper Austria. Studied singing in Linz, Basel and Vienna. Made his debut at the Vienna State Opera in 1998 and was a member of the Zurich Opera House ensemble until 2017. He has also always been a Lied and concert singer and a passionate church musician.
Bernhard Pötsch has been a piano teacher at the “Keyboard Instruments in Music Education” department at the Vienna University of Music since 2003. He studied in Linz and at the Vienna University of Music. He is active as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist.
