About the region
The municipality, located close to the Slovenian border, places great emphasis on sporting activities and enjoying nature to the full. The absolute highlight for hiking enthusiasts is the natural jewel Altenbachklamm gorge and the geo-hiking trail along the still active quarry. You can also go high up in the company of a donkey - it's simply better to hike together. Take a closer look at the lush meadows and herbs and let the surrounding countryside take its effect on you. Oberhaag and the surrounding area can also be easily explored by bike. And with a spacious recreational area and the natural swimming pond, there is also plenty of action in summer. There is also more than enough culinary choice in and around the municipality. Delicacies and regional delicacies as well as excellent wines are not left out here and tempt visitors to linger and relax.
