Türlwand-Hochwurzen Road Bike Loop

The Türlwand-Hochwurzen Loop starting from the Hauser Kaibling valley station offers 60 kilometers and 1,600 meters of elevation gain, delivering pure cycling enjoyment for road bike and gravel bike enthusiasts. Highlights include the steep switchbacks leading to the Dachstein Cable Car, panoramic views of the Dachstein Massif, and the picturesque Pichl Lake, making this tour an unforgettable experience.
The tour begins at the Hauser Kaibling valley station and leads through Weißenbach to Birnberg, continuing towards Ramsau-Rössing. Challenging but rewarding climbs take you to Ramsau Ort, where the route follows the Schildlehenstraße to the Dachsteinstraße. The final 5 kilometers to the Dachstein Cable Car valley station, the highest point of the tour, are tackled via steep switchbacks.

The return route leads through Ramsau Vorberg to Pichl, passing the picturesque Pichl Lake. The Preuneggstraße begins with a steep ascent, followed by a wooden bridge crossing and the path heading toward Rohrmoos. The route then passes through Rohrmoos, by the Tauernalm restaurant, and descends into Schladming. From there, the route continues through Untere Klaus and Lehen, ultimately returning to the Hauser Kaibling valley station.

  • Dachstein Glacier Cable Car: A detour to the Dachstein Glacier Cable Car is highly recommended to experience the stunning glacier world (advance gondola reservations required).
  • Pichl Lake: Ideal for a refreshing break surrounded by nature.
  • Culinary Delights: Numerous inns along the route, such as the Brückenhof or Tauernalm, offer well-deserved refreshments.
