New 8-person cable car from the center in Mariazell
A trip to the Mariazeller Bürgeralpe is a great experience for the whole family. Just a few minutes from the main square of Mariazell is the valley station of the Bürgeralpe Express. From there, you glide up to 1,267 m with the new 8-person cable car, a modern single-cable loop from Doppelmayr.
There is plenty of space for strollers or wheelchairs in the cabins.
Adventure Park Holzknechtland & Beaver Water
The entrance to the adventure park is located at the mountain station. In Holzknechtland, work processes of forestry from the past are presented in stations. Children can playfully understand what was once a hard livelihood. On a forest quiz and stamp rally, mascot Beaver Basti accompanies them on this exploration journey.
A ride on the forest railway around the forest and crystal lake is an experience for all visitors.
Beaver Water
Discover the play world of our mascot Beaver Basti: three marble runs, sawboard, Basti's giant slide, eagle's nest, side slide, as well as crawl tunnels and a sand playground ensure lots of fun and action. "Pack your swimsuit" is the motto during the fun raft race, the splash beavers, as well as at the wild brook and water course with gold panning troughs.
WALD8erBAHN "Flylina's Witch Flight"
On the new WALD8erBAHN, you float almost silently among the treetops through the hiking wonder forest. Whether in a cozy double with a child or alone in a fast curve flight. The new flying experience extends over 350 meters and is a spectacular but also safe experience for the whole family. At the end of the witch flight, you walk back.
Forest Adventure Trail "The Secret of the White Tower"
The landing area of Flylina's witch flight is also the starting point of the newly designed 1.3 km family hiking trail. Along the adventure trail, the secret of the white tower is revealed at seven playful experience stations with the help of the residents of the hiking wonder forest. The solution clues are entered in the nature treasure map that each child receives during Flylina's witch flight.
Circular Hiking Trail Three Lakes View
The stroller-friendly circular hiking trail starts at the mountain station. Enjoy the view of the three lakes: Kristallsee, Erlaufsee, and Hubertussee. Walking time: approx. 45 minutes Lookout Tower The 21-meter high Archduke Johann Lookout Tower was built from wood in 1855, rebuilt in its current form in 1908, and underwent a general renovation in 2006. A fantastic panoramic view awaits you!
The new summer experience with bow and arrow
Along a circular path with realistic 3D targets, archery fans of all ages – even without prior knowledge – can try their hand. Depending on desire and time, the course can be completed with 20 to 32 stations (walking time: approx. 1.5 to 2 hours). Rental equipment and a short briefing in theory and practice at the practice area can be taken on-site without prior registration.
New parking lot in Mariazell
A new municipal parking lot for up to 108 cars has been built just 150 meters from the valley station, and it is subject to fees.
