Flight Demonstration
Experience the birds of prey of the castle falconry and watch the falconers at their daily work with their hunting partners, the birds of prey. The season starts in May: Wednesday to Sunday, 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
The castle terrace of the Oberkapfenberg Castle has excellent wind and thermal conditions. This allows for a nature-oriented free flight of eagles, vultures, and the like to become a spectacular experience. Several birds of prey also fly simultaneously, an experience that is hardly found elsewhere in Europe.
Culinary Tip: After the flight show, you can strengthen yourself at the Kranawetter restaurant in the Oberkapfenberg Castle and then easily manage the 10-minute climb to the Lorettokapelle. About 5 kilometers away, you will also find the inn Prieselbauer with great cuisine, a petting zoo, and a large playground.

Experience the falconry days at Oberkapfenberg Castle – A 6-hour interesting, educational, and unforgettable program awaits you. From theoretical information – hunting, breeding, bird of prey science, laws, diseases, care, history to a bird of prey show including lunch and a beverage.
The castle falconry offers photo shoots with birds of prey like owls or falcons as well as animal sponsorships with a certificate and annual pass.
