About the region

The residential community at the foot of the Gleinalpe is a popular stopover on the Mur cycle path. The municipality lies between the Mur and the Gleinalpe and is a popular cycling and hiking area. Thanks to the commitment of the municipality, it has also been possible to generate some official mountain bike trails here, which also offer enthusiastic cyclists some variety.

Numerous sporting events - especially running events - have gained in importance in recent years, both at the Wipfelwandweg and in the municipality. In general, St. Margarethen, as a sympathetic place with a very active club life, is a very active tourist community in the region.
