A place to flourish: education and health in the middle of nature MOAR - DER HOF is located in the upper Murtal, nestled in meadows, forests and gentle mountains, a place where experiencing nature, educational work and promoting mental health come together in a special way. On June 13, 2025, the farm in Weißkirchen run by Eva-Maria König and Leonhard Madl was officially certified as a Green Care farm.

Learning with all senses - and growing

MOAR - DER HOF is much more than a traditional farm. Eva-Maria König - who also works as a lecturer at the Rural Training Institute of Styria - and Leonhard Madl have created an educational space close to nature that gives children and adults alike a direct insight into sustainable agriculture, circular thinking and animal husbandry. The two bring their training as qualified mental trainers to the table, as well as a great deal of passion and experience in working with people. "Learning should be fun - with movement, enthusiasm and without any pressure. We see children and adults blossom on our farm every day," emphasized König and Madl, who were delighted with the Green Care certification. Together with a nutritionist and a health psychologist, they develop programs that promote mindfulness, curiosity and a connection with nature. The spectrum ranges from workshops as part of school on the farm to vacation camps for little superheroes and mental training for adults. Feeding animals, churning butter, sowing and harvesting, as well as forest adventures, group games and creative activities make the organic farm a place of active experience and discovery.

Shaping the future with purpose and attitude

For Andreas Steinegger, President of the Styrian Chamber of Agriculture, MOAR - DER HOF is a prime example of forward-looking educational opportunities: “If we want young people to develop a deep understanding of agriculture and the environment again, we need authentic experiential spaces like this.” Thomas Gschier, Chairman of Bio Ernte Steiermark, also emphasized the relevance: “Green Care shows new ways to bring values such as sustainability, respect and closeness to nature to life - across all age groups.” Günther Mayerl, Managing Director of Green Care Entwicklungs- und Beratungs-GmbH, added: "At Eva-Maria König and Leonhard Madl's farm, you can see how Green Care works in practice: The farms continue to develop, create new offers and income opportunities - and take responsibility for education, health and social interaction.
