A day in Obdach - enjoyment around the clock

  • 2 minutes of reading time
A day in Obdach is full of unique nature experiences, magnificent views and culinary delights.

Gentle rippling and enjoyment of nature in the morning

We start our day in Obdach with a walk to the Granitzenbach natural monument. The Granitzenbach in Obdach is an idyllic mountain stream that flows through the picturesque landscape of the Murtal. It has its source in the Seetal Alps and makes its way through forests and meadows before flowing into the Lavant river. The stream offers peace and relaxation. The Granitzenbach is a small natural jewel that emphasises the beauty of the region around Obdach and invites you to slow down.

The scent of Swiss stone pine and regional flavours

After our extensive walk, we visit the Mandl gourmet farmer's shop on the main square in Obdach. Here we browse through the extensive range of products. Exquisite chocolates, savoury liqueurs, traditional pumpkin seed oil and much more make hearts beat faster. Here you can shop to your heart's content.

The stone pine line and stone pine soap prove that stone pine is not only suitable for schnapps. Not only does it make the skin baby-soft, the scent is equally enchanting and relaxing.

Home cooking and traditional cuisine

Fresh air, exercise in the morning and then extensive shopping make you hungry. At Gasthof Grillitsch we indulge ourselves with the best home cooking. Regional products and high quality are the order of the day at the inn. Delicious fish, savoury schnitzel variations, exceptional spring rolls and much more to pamper body and soul.

For a welcome change, we enjoy a round of skittles.

Panoramic views

We continue into the beautiful natural surroundings. At the St. Anna viewing platform, we enjoy the fresh mountain air and a fantastic view. The fresh autumn wind blows around our noses and awakens our spirits from our afternoon nap.

The St. Anna viewing platform in Obdach offers a breathtaking view over the Mur Valley and the surrounding Seetal Alps. It is located next to the small, historic St Anne's Church, which is enthroned on a hill. From the platform, visitors can enjoy the vastness of the landscape and the beauty of nature to the full. The place is ideal for a short hike and invites you to linger and slow down. Especially at sunset, the viewing platform unfolds its very special charm and becomes a popular photo motif.

Our gourmet day is rounded off with a visit to the Seetalblick. A true culinary gem is hidden here.
